Deta Electrical Specified in New Vistry Innovation Centre

In conjunction with Vistry Group, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure house builder, Deta is proud to confirm that it’s products have been specified and installed in the newly launched Vistry Innovation Centre (VIC) at its timber frame construction factory, Vistry Works, in Leicestershire.

A project focused on showcasing ‘technologies of the future’, the VIC demonstrates the groups manufacturing capability in addition to the means they are taking to achieve their ambitious goal of becoming net zero by 2040. Opened following the relaunch of Vistry Works in July 2023, the building is one of the largest timber frame construction facilities in the UK, measuring 356,000 sq ft. Combined with Vistry’s two factories in Warrington and Leicester, the company has the capacity to deliver over 7,000 homes per annum using pre-manufactured 2D structural systems.

As well as delivering high-quality new homes more economically, efficiently and sustainably, Vistry Works will also contribute significant social value, boosting local job creation, with 17 of the site’s new starters living within a 10-mile radius (49% of the current workforce) and with plans to create an additional 60 new factory jobs throughout 2024.

Featuring over 100 different products and smart technologies, the VIC provides visitors with the opportunity to witness the various stages of construction and learn about the wealth of progressive products the company is using both now and in the future. Launched in time for the fast approaching Future Home Standard that comes into operation in 2025, the VIC uses a selection of market leading products and services from 18 different trades and 54 suppliers, including the very latest from Deta’s ranges of products.

As a brand with sustainability at core of our culture, Deta supplied the VIC with Slimline and Décor wiring accessories, Gridswitch, electric vehicle charging points, recessed media plates and consumer units.

Neil Clack, Specification Director at Deta, says “we feel privileged to have our products showcased by the Vistry Group as part of their new innovation centre. A testament to the ongoing commitment towards improving sustainability practices, I am incredibly proud of the work of our team at Deta, with the inclusion of our products at the VIC clearly demonstrating the positive steps being made towards sustainable housing construction”.

Earl Sibley, Chief Operating Officer, Vistry Group, added: “The demand for high-quality new homes in the UK shows no sign of relenting and the investment Vistry has made in timber-frame manufacturing and the progressive, world-leading technologies we are showcasing in the VIC will enable us to deliver these homes more quickly and sustainably than traditional methods of construction.”
